Outsourced Personnel launched in January 2020 not long before we found ourselves, like the rest of New Zealand, locked down. Those uncertain six weeks allowed time to reflect and plan which ultimately led to refining our business model.

Rather than attempting to be β€œall things to all people” we chose to specialise in placing skilled office staff.

About Louise Bird, Recruitment Consultant and Principal Owner

I was born and raised on a sheep, beef, and deer farm near Taihape. After graduating from Massey University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Studies, it was off to Wellington to work in sales and marketing for The Dominion and The Evening Post before the bright lights of London called.

Seven years abroad combined working and travelling in Europe, Asia, and Australia before returning to a marketing role in Queenstown for tourism operator Real Journeys. Roles in human resources and event management followed and at the heart of each was the focus on people that over the years has evolved into a passion for recruitment.

A relocation to Whanganui in 2010 and an administration role at New Zealand Masters Games followed – a dream role for a sports enthusiast who has ticked off multiple trail-running and multisport events around the country.

Now happily settled in Whanganui, I love this city with so much to offer: a vibrant business community, a rugged coastline with black sandy beaches, acres of green space, diverse trail running and mountain biking tracks, Virginia Lake that changes like a kaleidoscope through the seasons, amazing cafes and events like the awesome Lights on Bikes, a beloved book club (that’s only 5% about the books) crew, local favourite – the Riverside Traders market every Saturday morning, and the opportunity to volunteer with LandSAR.

With two young daughters, the ease of beautiful small city life in Whanganui works perfectly with running a boutique recruitment agency.
